“AI is fundamental to meeting the new requirements for networking IT”

AI is fundamental to meeting the new requirements for networking IT, providing much needed automation to lower costs, maximize IT efficiency, and expedite problem resolution. AI can automate and eliminate mundane tasks, allowing administrators to diagnose, address and rectify, operational issues before users know they exist. AI-driven monitoring increases the quality and quantity of data collected across wireless, wired, and device domains and can provide a level insight into the user experience not possible with traditional monitoring tools.

With proactive and automated workflows, AI-driven networks will ultimately evolve to a self-driving network with the ability to identify and predict when capacity will be exceeded, for example. The network will eventually be able to take proactive action such as opening a purchase request for an upgraded WAN circuit or higher performing access point in areas of need. The system would include a justification for the change order that IT leadership would then review and approve. This will enable IT teams to focus instead on strategic activities that drive up the profitability of the business.
