Abdulsalam Abumelha manages STC Wholesale’s Global Services team, providing services and solutions to STC’s international customers. Abdulsalam joined STC in 1999 and has been working on strategy formulation and execution, during his career, he worked as an advisor to STC board of directors (2004-2007) in the 2nd transformation program, Abdulsalam led various teams including GM Corporate Strategy MI, GM of Wholesale Product Development and Marketing and in the current role as the GM of Wholesale Global Services. Earlier, as an advisor on privatisation, He had led a team which developed Saudi Airlines privatisation strategy.

Mark Bennett

Head of Global Fixed Connectivity Products — Vodafone Group Enterprise

Mark Bennett joined Vodafone in 2012 and is responsible for a portfolio of fixed connectivity products which are sold through Vodafone Group Enterprise and local market operating companies in most of Vodafone's local markets. 

Prior to joining Vodafone, Mark held senior product management roles in Cable and Wireless Worldwide, where he was responsible for IP-VPN MPLS and Internet products, as well as UK access network strategy. Also, at THUS the mid-market division of Cable and Wireless, where he headed up the Data Products Portfolio. Mark has previously worked for several UK communications organisations including BT and Energies. He has an MBA from Henley Management College.

Karl Brown

Sr. Director of Product Marketing, Cloud Networking Group — Citrix

As part of the Citrix Cloud Networking Group, Karl is responsible for product and technical marketing for the Citrix’s CloudBridge WAN optimization product family. 

Mr. Brown has almost 20 years of experience in networking, spanning wired and wireless, voice and data, as well as enterprise, system vendor and service provider environments.  Prior to Citrix, Mr. Brown held marketing positions at Nuance Communications, ANDA Networks, Jetstream Communications, and Nortel Networks.  His professional experiences are complemented with Bachelor and Master of Science degrees in Engineering from the Georgia Institute of Technology as well as an MBA from Indiana University.

Greg Bryan

Senior Manager, Enterprise ResearchTeleGeography

Senior Analyst Greg Bryan joined TeleGeography in 2006 and has specialized in pricing and market analysis for the wholesale and enterprise long haul and network markets. While at TeleGeography, he has worked on designing, creating, and launching several new data products including the Enterprise Networks Pricing Service, IP Transit Pricing Database, Ethernet Pricing Service and Global Enterprise Networks. Most recently he has helped TeleGeography’s pricing practice move beyond the long haul network with the creation of the Local Access Pricing Service.

Mr. Bryan’s primary focus is on networks and pricing for the Americas, however, he tracks and is familiar with global markets. He is a frequent presenter on the geography and pricing of submarine cables and enterprise networks, particularly at telecom conferences with a focus on the Americas.

Mr. Bryan earned a B.A. in Political Science from American University, an M.A. in Geography from the University of Maryland, and a J.D. from George Mason University School of Law. He previously taught Geography as an Adjunct Professor at Marymount University in Virginia.

Gilles Deworm

Senior Technology Manager, Network Connectivity — Johnson & Johnson

Gilles Deworm is Senior Technology Manager, Network Connectivity at Johnson & Johnson. In this capacity, he has architected the transformation of Johnson & Johnson's global WAN from a hierarchical frame-relay and leased-line network to a dual-provider global MPLS core. Gilles was the global technical lead for a multi-million dollar network remediation project to standardize operating companies’ LANs, and has engineered advanced wireless capabilities and services for J&J operating companies. Gilles is also responsible for Johnson & Johnson's EMEA data center strategy.
 
Prior to joining Johnson & Johnson in 2002, Gilles architected EBONE/KPNQwest pan-european Internet backbone and Internet peering strategy. For WIN S.A he implemented innovative VPN solutions on the first MPLS network in Belgium. For Igretec S.A he designed and implemented a high speed ATM metro network with cable modems access on Brutele network.
 
Gilles holds a Master of Science in Electromechanical Engineering from the University of Brussels and a Masters in Industrial Management from the University from Leuven. He recently completed an Executive MBA from the Vlerick Business School and has achieved ITIL Expert certification level. 
 
Gilles lives in Belgium, In his free time he enjoys outdoor activities like biking, hiking, sailing and scuba diving.

Matthew Finnie

Never afraid to challenge the status quo of existing technology and traditional industry thinking, Matthew Finnie is one of the most provocative technology thinkers in Europe. Matthew started his career in semiconductors designing mixed signal semiconductors including overseeing the development of some of the first consumer oriented applications for digital signal processing. The advent of VOIP in the mid 90¹s lead to the acquisition of Insitu by the VOIP pioneer Vocaltec the combination going onto develop the first unified communications application suite for the enterprise.

Matthew has degrees in electrical and electronic engineering and marketing. He is a regular advisor to the European Commission on ICT research and innovation and a member of the CONNECT Advisory Forum (CAF) advising the EU commission on investment priorities as part of the digital futures and horizon 2020 initiatives. Matthew was named CTO of the year at the 2015 World Communication Awards, for his strength in innovation, technical vision and formidable track record.

Paul Griffiths

Paul Griffiths is Technical Director for the Advanced Technology Group at Riverbed Technology since the beginning of 2013. His core responsibilities include being an advocate for customers, prospects and Riverbed teams, advising on IT architecture and business solutions by communicating the current capabilities and future direction of the Riverbed portfolio. Interfacing with Riverbed Product Management and Engineering to contribute towards product development strategy. Having previously served in pre-sales and as a Global Consulting Engineer for Riverbed since 2006, Paul brings a wealth of knowledge, leadership and technical expertise to the Advanced Technology Group team, as well as evangelism for the company globally.

Keith has worked for over 30 years in the international telecoms business, all of this time for BT.  He is currently leading the product management team who do development, in-life management, performance and product marketing for all of BT’s UK and global data transport products.  These include MPLS and Ethernet-based VPNs, corporate internet access, bandwidth products and also BT’s Application Performance Monitoring products – collectively the “Connect Portfolio” – a post Keith has held for the last six years. 

Keith has had many roles within BT covering project management, marketing, strategy, investment management and M&A, but his focus in recent years has been on portfolio and product management.

Keith is a Chartered Electrical Engineer and lives and works in London.

Engineer graduate of Telecom ParisTech, Catherine has more than 25 years of experience in the field of infrastructures, networks and telecommunications.

Catherine has occupied various positions in large international firms, including within the Daimler Benz group in the IT function, the France Télécom group in the Large Accounts Division or the Elf Aquitaine group where she took the responsibility of the Networks and Telecommunications field at group level.

Snehal Patel is a Network Architect and SD-WAN Subject Matter Expert at Gap Inc. He has presented on SD-WAN at several conferences. He leads the design and deployment of WAN architectures at Gap Inc.'s more than 3,000 stores, corporate offices and distribution centers. Snehal also participates in the architecture and designs Gap Inc.'s retail and e-commerce data centers. Snehal plays a key role in all the network-related POC at Gap Inc. Prior to joining TeleGeography, Robert served as a Nuclear Submarine Officer in the U.S. Navy, learning firsthand the limitations of satellite communications to a moving platform. Michael Winterson

Michael Winterson joined Equinix in September 2007 when the company acquired London AIM listed IXEurope.  At Equinix, he held the positions of VP of Marketing and VP of Sales before his current role. Joining IXEurope as part of the startup management team in January 2000, he brings over 14 years of datacenter services experience and held senior positions in country management, sales and marketing. Before IXEurope, Michael was involved in two other technology startups in Europe that were eventually sold to US and Japanese companies.  He holds a bachelor’s degree in Economics and French from Northwestern University and a master’s degree in International Economics from the Graduate Institute – Geneva.  An itinerant American, Michael fell in love with Europe at an early age and has never looked back.

Johan joined the research division of Alcatel in 1992, with focus on QoS and ATM. Since then he held several positions with an end-to-end solution focus in voice-data convergence. He also worked as marketer in the IP division, being responsible for consultancy on IP and Ethernet business data services and Cloud services. He was also IP Business manager in EMEA. Currently, he is part of the regional IP PLM team with the focus on the evolution of business services including SDN and NFV.

He holds a PhD in Physics from the University of Antwerp, Belgium and is holder of several telecom patents. He has been a speaker at numerous conferences on topics like VPN, IP, Carrier Ethernet and Business Services and is author of publications on these topics. For years, he is active as MEF ambassador and has presented many times on behalf of the MEF. He is MEF EMEA marketing co-chair as well as Benelux marketing co-chair.

Andy Wood manages the Global Sales Engineering teams at Tata Communications which is responsible for providing all Service Provider and Partner Enterprise solutions.   Andy joined Tata Communications in 2009 with over 20 years in the telecommunications history, previously from Global Crossing, Fibernet and Kingston Communications.  During his tenure in Tata Communications, Andy was Chief Architect of the Formula One Management service design, has delivered many transformational customer solutions and seen Gartner position Tata Communications in the Leaders’ Quadrant of the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Network Services, Global for three year in a row.

Mathias Zimmermann

Chief Solution Architect NTT Europe

Mathias Zimmermann is the Chief Solution Architect at NTT Europe and is based in Frankfurt Germany. Specializing in IP routing protocols and Technologies such as IWAN, he has designed and implemented many large-scale enterprise networks throughout North America, Europe, and Asia. Mathias is a Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE #20111) and has been working in the Networking Industry for the past 17 years. Currently he is managing a team of Network and Design Architects in Europe in the NTT Business Network Services Team. He has a passion for developing and launching new products and services to make customer networks more intelligent and easier to manage through network orchestration.
